Volunteers
We rely on volunteers to help our patients and their families in many different ways.
There are many reasons why people choose to become volunteers - to give something back to their local community, newly acquired spare time, a wish to help others.....whatever the reason, Exmouth & Lympstone Hospiscare are looking for Volunteers to improve the services we provide.

Car Drivers Driving patients to Medical, Dental appointments or Day Care. A volunteer recently said, "The patients you meet will inspire you to be more appreciative of what you have in your own life. If you want to put something back into your community, then go for it". Expenses are currently paid at 45p a mile. Your motor insurance should not be affected but you must tell your insurers that you are doing voluntary work. Click here for application form. |

Sitters Sitting with a patient to allow the carer to go shopping, to the hairdresser's, or simply to have a little time to themselves. "When you are looking after someone you love 24 hours a day, you cannot understand the strain and pressure it puts on you and the relationship. It is such a relief to get away for just a couple of hours knowing your loved one is still being cared for". Click here for application form. |
