Welcome to Exmouth & Lympstone Hospiscare
.
Hospiscare Exmouth and Lympstone was founded 25 years ago to provide support for people in the Exmouth and Lympstone area with life threatening illnesses, as well as their families.
CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE
I joined Exmouth & Lympstone Hospiscare as a volunteer driver in 2001. At that time, the Charity was working from a small cottage loaned by Exmouth Hospital.
In 2004 an opportunity arose for us to move into purpose built premises in Highview Gardens, and I joined the Board of Trustees. The Charity has continued to grow with the wonderful support and generosity of local people - enabling us to extend the services offered to our patients in Exmouth and Lympstone.
We now have 2 Specialist Nurses, an Assistant Practioner, an administrator and a complementary therapist - supported by a growing number of volunteers helping as drivers and sitters for patients, a carers support group and bereavement support.
Over the years I have seen what a difference our Nurses make helping local families faced with life threatening illnesses and know, therefore, how essential the service is. We work closely with Hospiscare Exeter Mid and East Devon, and have recently formed a Coastal Cluster Team with Budleigh and District Hospiscare.
With the help of our dedicated Trustees and hard working team of fund-raising volunteers, together with vital support from local people and businesses - I hope we can continue to be there for local patients when they need us most ... as they near the end of their lives.
95p of every £1.00 donated is spent on nursing costs or support services for our patients and their families.
